2023 Australia Cup journey starts for 127 grassroots clubs in NSW

Football NSW has conducted its draws for Preliminary Rounds two and three of the 2023 Australia Cup which featured an incredible 127 grassroots clubs from across the state.

In an official draw conducted at Football NSW Headquarters, the fate of 127 clubs from various associations as well as League One and Two Men’s teams were given their fixtures with the hope of progressing further into the prestigious Cup tournament.

Round 2 matches will take place on Saturday 11^th and Sunday 12^th of March while Round 3 will be played across three days beginning on the 21^st of March and ending on the 23^rd of March.

Round 4 will see the introduction of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clubs with those matches set for Tuesday 11^th of April, Wednesday 12^th of April and Thursday 13^th of April.

Football NSW’s Australia Cup Coordinator Wade Giovenali was looking forward to an even stronger year following a successful 2022 campaign.

“It’s brilliant to see as many as 127 passionate grassroots clubs throw their support in wanting to take part in what is Australia’s elite Cup competition.

“Clubs from NSW had a memorable 2022 Australia Cup tournament which saw Wollongong United become the first ever association across the nation to book a spot in the Round of 32 while Sydney United 58 became the first ever non-A-Leagues Men side to participate in the Cup Final.

“We want to wish each and every club the best of luck with their Australia Cup journeys as it all starts here.”

Football Australia has once again granted four (4) Round of 32 spots for Football NSW clubs.
