Australia Cup Preliminary Rounds Weekend Preview

There’s plenty of Australia Cup action happening around the country this weekend with Preliminary Round matches being played in three states.

Get the lowdown ahead of this weekend’s games in Canberra, Victoria and Queensland.

Preliminary Round Three action gets underway in the ACT with four matches featuring three Capital Premier League teams and five Senior League teams.

Brindabella Blues and Queanbeyan City will battle it out in the opening match at Hawker Football Centre at midday on Sunday and will be followed by a match-up between Weston Molonglo and Burns FC at the same venue.

Both matches from the Hawker Football Centre will be live streamed on the My Football YouTube channel and Australia Cup Facebook page.

Woden Valley will take on Majura FC while Belnorth FC will face UC Stars in the other two Round Three matches on Sunday.

The winners of Sunday’s matches will join the ACT’s NPL clubs and the top four seeded Capital Premier League teams in Round Four.

In Victoria 78 teams will battle it out in Preliminary Round 3 action this weekend.

State League One club’s enter the competition this weekend, including the likes of South Springvale who reached the National Round of 16 in 2014.

State League One North-West heavyweights Essendon Royals and Caroline Springs George Cross go head-to-head in one of the most exciting ties of the third round.

Just one game will be played in Queensland this weekend with Burdekin FC and MA Olympic facing off to be the last team standing in the competition from Townsville.

Saturday’s match which kicks off at 7:30pm local time at 1300SMILES Active Park will be live streamed on the My Football Youtube and Australia Cup Facebook page.
