Australia Cup Weekend Preview

Northern NSW

Northern NSW Southern Zone weekend Preliminary Round 2 action kicks off with Stockton Sharks hosting Merewether Advance and Hamilton Azzurri taking on Bolwarra Lorn on Friday night.

A further eight matches are set to take place over Saturday and Sunday as club’s look to put their name in the hat for Round 3.

Western Australia

21 Preliminary Round Three ties will be played as the 2022 Australia Cup kicks into full swing in WA this weekend.

State League teams enter the fray this week, joining regional, WACFA and Belt Up Metro and Amateur sides.

Western Knights, who qualified for the Round of 32 in 2017 take on Fremantle City at Nash Field on Saturday afternoon.

Murdoch University Melville, who last weekend won the Men’s State League Night Series Final take on Kwinana United.

MUM FC’s opposition from the final, Olympic Kingsway, who’s off season recruitment included former Perth Glory striker, Tommy Amphlett will face Gosnells City.

Other all-State League ties include Carramar Shamrock Rovers v Wanneroo City, Western Knights v Fremantle City, Quinns v Canning City and Morley Windmills v Joondalup United.

The weekend’s cup action in the West wraps up with Forrestfield United taking on Dianella White Eagles at Crazy Domains Stadium on Sunday evening.

NSW

The weekend’s Australia Cup action in NSW gets underway on Thursday night with Narrabeen FC hosting Sydney Rangers in the first of five fixtures for the evening.

A further six ties will be played on Saturday before Preliminary Round Two action wraps up in NSW on Tuesday night with Terrigal United hosting Ponds FC and Kemps Creek going head-to-head with Bonnet Bay FC.

South Australia

19 Preliminary Round One ties will be played as Australia Cup action kicks off for 2022 in South Australia this weekend.

State League One sides are amongst those competing this weekend, with Adelaide Croatia Raiders and Adelaide Blue eagles who were both relegated from the NPL SA last season taking on Vipers FC and Northern Demons respectively.

ACT

NPL Capital Football Club’s kick off their cup campaigns with Australia Cup Preliminary Round 4 action taking place in Canberra this weekend.

There are three all NPL clashes taking place with last year’s Round of 32 entrants Cooma Tigers hosting Canberra Olympic in the pick of the action on Saturday evening.

On Sunday Gungahlin United host Belconnen United while West Canberra host Canberra Croatia in the other all NPL fixtures.

ACT Preliminary Round 4 action will continue through to next weekend and wrap up with Weston Molonglo face ANU FC.
