Melbourne City claimed its first piece of silverware as a club after winning the Australia Cup Final, on this day, 30 November 2016.

Tim Cahill's 53rd minute header from Ivan Franjic's cross was the difference on the night in front of more than 18,000 fans at AAMI Park.

It was a hostile match with obviously a trophy on the line.

City had the better of the chances in the first 45 through Cahill and Brandan before Alex Brosque missed a half chance.
