On this day in 2019: Adelaide United clinch third Australia Cup
Having already claimed two Australia Cups, Adelaide United's reputation as the 'cup specialists' was only enhanced after lifting its record-breaking third title on October 23, 2019.
On a balmy evening, the Reds welcomed Melbourne City to Coopers Stadium in front of 14,920 fans and witnessed the most dominant final to date, thrashing their opponents 4-0.
Al Hassan Toure - already the revelation of the tournament - opened the scoring after surprising Dean Bouzanis at his near post with an angled 25th-minute finish.
While City had a few chances it was virtually one-way traffic in the second-half as the rampant Reds could not be contained.
Ben Halloran, Nikola Mileusnic and Riley McGree all scored in the space of 26 minutes, creating a real party-like atmosphere for the final quarter of an hour.
In winning the trophy, Adelaide became the first and only side to win the competition in back-to-back iterations.
