Round Four Fixtures Revealed in the West

The final 16 teams standing in Western Australia have learned their fate following Wednesday's Preliminary Round 4 draw.

Emerald FC’s reward for knocking out Balcatta Etna in the previous round of the Australia Cup is another home tie against NPL opposition, this time Sorrento.

Shane O’Donovan’s Belt Up Amateur Premier Division outfit, the only Sunday team left in the competition, stunned Balcatta 2-1 thanks to a brace from Andrew Wood.

Emerald will now look to repeat the trick back at Fraser Park Reserve against the Gulls in the WA Preliminary last 16.

The David-v-Goliath clash might be the tie of the round, although not far behind is the game at Nash Field where State League Division One Western Knights take on sister club Gwelup Croatia.

Perth SC and Armadale, who both scored seven on the weekend, meet at Dorrien Gardens while Bayswater City, who hit six, welcome in-form Division Two side Kingsley Westside to Frank Drago Reserve.

Division Two Balga can look forward to a big day when NPL high-fliers Stirling Macedonia make the short journey to Princess Road Reserve.

Division One Mandurah City are at home to NPL Inglewood United, while two sides who swapped divisions last year meet at Besteam Stadium as first division Murdoch University Melville host Ashfield, now of Division Two.

Finally, Cockburn City await the winners of the Forrestfield United v Joondalup United tie, which was postponed on Saturday.

The WA Round Four games are scheduled for the midweek of 17-19 May.
