Heidelberg striker Ken Athiu netted a superb individual goal to hand the PS4 NPL outfit a 1-0 win over Perth Glory.

Throwback: Heidelberg United stun Perth Glory with upset win

Heidelberg United became the fourth National Premier League side to record an Australia Cup upset after downing Perth Glory 1-0 in the Round of 32 in 2017.

Kenny Athiu's solitary goal, courtesy of a splendid finish, sent Olympic Park (Village) into scenes of euphoria after the striker was brilliantly released by Sean Ellis' through ball.

The crowd of almost 3,000 erupted as Athiu's composed one-on-one effort in the 48th minute flew into the top corner and past Liam Reddy.

The Melbourne-based club would go on to reach the quarter finals of the competition after beating Sydney United 58 in a penalty shootout before falling to Adelaide United.
