Campbelltown City FC – 0

Melbourne Knights continued their run in the Cup with a 2-0 victory over Campbelltown City at Knights Stadium.

Melbourne took the lead into halftime courtesy of a late goal from a persistent Mohammed Sumaoro, who made the most of a City error at the back to bundle home.

The side added a second soon after the break courtesy of Mitchell Hore’s side-footed finish from the edge of the area to book a place in the last eight of the competition for the first time.

MetroStars FC – 1 (Ren NAGAMATSU 90+1’)

Inter Lions FC – 0

MetroStars snatched a last-minute 1-0 victory over Inter Lions at T.K. Shutter Reserve.

It was a tense match that looked destined for extra time before Ren Nagamatsu stepped up as the hero for the hosts in stoppage time to send the side through to a maiden quarter finals berth.

Western Sydney Wanderers FC – 5 (Marcus ANTONSSON 2’ 45’, Brandon BORRELLO 37’ 56’, Milos NINKOVIC 53’)

Adelaide United FC – 1 (Zach CLOUGH 81’)

Western Sydney Wanderers inflicted a 5-0 flogging on Adelaide United at Marconi Stadium.

The Wanderers were ruthless in the first half, going into the sheds with a three-goal advantage.

Marcus Antonsson converted Jack Clisby’s left-sided cross a couple of minutes in before Brandon Borrello slid in a composed finish for the second in the 37th minute.

Antonsson picked up his second goal on the stroke of halftime, latching onto a ball over the top and executing a well-placed finish from inside the box.

Western Sydney continued their onslaught after the break as Milos Ninkovic buried an accurate low finish to make it four 53 minutes in, and then Borrello chipped in a fifth three minutes later.

Zach Clough pulled one back late for United, but it only proved a consolation as the Wanderers strolled through to the next round.
