Brisbane Strikers pay tribute to Manly United's 'class act'

Manly United certainly left an impression on the FFA Cup 2019 - in more ways than one.

The NPL New South Wales side secured their first ever FFA Cup Round of 32 triumph in a tense 4-2 penalty shootout win after a 2-2 draw against state rivals Mount Druitt Town Rangers.

But it was not only on the field of play, it was off the pitch that they also made their mark.

In a move made famous by Japanese sports teams and their supporters, the boys from the Northern Beaches left their change rooms spotless following their 1-0 Round of 16 defeat to Brisbane Strikers.

Matthew Richardson’s 62nd-minute goal may have proven decisive as the NPL Queenslanders marched on to the final eight but the Dolphins left Perry Park with their heads held high.

And, in a final parting message, Manly head coach Paul Dee and his charges left a message of good luck to the victorious Member Federation team.

Strikers advance to another all Member Federation clash on home turf in the Quarter Final.

The River City side will face NPL Victoria second-tier outfit, Moreland Zebras, on Wednesday 18 September at Perry Park.
