Miro Vlastelica’s side became the first NPL team to reach the final after an unforgettable cup run that included iconic victories over defending A-League Champions, Western United as well as Brisbane Roar at Sydney United Sports Centre.

Over 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the Australia Cup 2022 Final which will take place at CommBank Stadium, with tickets still available at Ticketek.

Speaking on the Magic of the Cup Podcast Brosque, who won the Australia Cup in 2017 with Sydney FC said he expects United to rise to the occasion in Saturday’s final.

“Sydney United have been used to playing on their pitch and at home, with their crowd but in saying that going to a stadium like this, that’s going to give every one of those players a massive lift,” Brosque said.

“They’re probably not used to playing in Stadiums like that, in atmospheres like it will be, so I just think it’s going to take them to another level.

“They’ll be tired, the fact that they’ve been training without really playing competitive matches for so long now, this is the sort of kick that they need.

“Walking into that stadium, walking out for the warm-ups, the energy that they’re going to get from the crowd, that’s going to lift them, that’s going to be the lift that they need.”

Macarthur have netted a tournament best 17 goals on their way to the final in Dwight Yorke’s maiden professional coaching job.

“For Macarthur this a chance to win their first piece of silverware, (Dwight) Yorke who’s been a part of so many massive moments in history, he can pass on a lot of advice for the players,” Brosque said.

Brosque who also experienced cup success with Al Ain in the UAE Presidents Cup in 2014 added Saturday’s Final was not one to be missed.

“I can’t wait, honestly, I think it’s going to be such an interesting final, I think it’ll be tight, I think you’ve got from a playing point of view it’ll be a tough a final, that’s what I’m looking forward to,” Brosque said.

“I think it will have that final feel to it, there’ll be a lot of tackles, I’m genuinely just looking forward to getting out there and seeing it.”
