Brisbane City secured qualification to the Australia Cup final rounds in a high-scoring 4-2 victory over Lions at Spencer Park.

Jackson Simpkin got City ahead 10 minutes before half-time before goals from Brandon Reeves and Yuta Hirayama put the home side three goals ahead after 60 minutes of action.

Lions pulled a goal back through Zach Maltby before Kye Bolton put the game to bed with a composed finish. 

Coming into the match against Cockburn City, Brisbane City  have a very mixed run of form with the Queensland side’s last victory coming against Young Roar in a 5-0 win at Underwood Park.

Brisbane City will be coming up against Western Australian side, Cockburn City who currently sit 10th in the NPL Western Australian competition after 16 rounds.
