After finishing 11th last season, Brisbane Roar were forced to book  their spot via the Playoffs involving the bottom four finishing A-League Men's sides 

Roar overcame an early goal from the Western Sydney Wanderers to secure a 3-1 comeback victory away from home in the 2022 Australia Cup Playoff Tie.

Jarrod Carrluccio fired the Red and Black ahead on the eighth minute before Cyrius Dehmie and Luke Ivanovic netted two goals in 10 minutes to put the Roar ahead in the tie.

Ivanovic put the game to bed right on the 75th minute as he completed his brace for the evening and allowed the Roar to progress past the Wanderers and into the Australia Cup Final Rounds.
