Last Five League Results: LLDLW

Sydney United have had an underwhelming campaign in NPL Men, with their qualification for the Australia Cup proving a significant silver lining to a season that has them on the bottom half of the ladder.

But they have shown their ability to go far in the competition before despite their lack of form in their local competition; they finished in a similar position last season but became the first NPL side to make the Grand Final of the Australia Cup, only losing to A-League Men's side Macarthur FC.

In that fairytale journey, they won the same amount of matches in their qualification campaign and Australia Cup run as in the league throughout the entire season, and Macarthur ended up last in the A-League Men - league form goes out the window as teams become possessed by the Magic of the Cup.
