For the first time in Wollongong’s long club history, the club qualified for the Australia Cup with a decisive victory over St George City, defeating the NSW NPL side 2-1 away from home.

Nathan Roberts put St George ahead on the 30th minute, converting from 12 yards which allowed the home side to take the lead into halftime before Jeremy Flanagan equalised for United.

Then up stepped Klime Sekutkoski who netted the winner on the 82nd minute for the away side, allowing Wollongong United’s fairytale run to continue onto the national stage.
