Football West's Cockburn, Inglewood one game from national stage of Australia Cup

Men's State Cup holders Cockburn City are one game away from another final appearance and a return to the Australia Cup national round of 32 following Tuesday night's 1-0 win over 10-man Gwelup Croatia.

A goal from substitute Jess Grese three minutes from time gave Cockburn victory at Dalmatinac Park over a Gwelup side who had James Rushton-Woods dismissed for a second yellow card just after the hour mark.

And in the other WA preliminary Round Six tie played tonight, it was another late win for an NPL team over Division One opposition as Inglewood United beat Fremantle City 3-2 thanks to a stoppage-time decider from Shubham Mokala at Armadale's Alfred Skeet Reserve.

Rene Kisesa gave United the lead on nine minutes, but by half-time Fremantle looked good to claim a third successive NPL scalp thanks to goals from Hayden Stevens and Dean Hurley.

Dylan White made it 2-2 with half-an-hour to go and Mokala completed Inglewood's comeback.

The other game scheduled for Tuesday between Sorrento FC and Swan United was postponed until next week (Tuesday 13 June, 7pm), while Balcatta Etna face Floreat Athena at Frank Drago Reserve tomorrow (7pm).
