Football Victoria began their preliminary Australia Cup qualifiers with round 1 taking place the weekend before last, which resulted in plenty of action and entertainment.
The set of fixtures saw an astonishing average of 5.5 goals per match with 299 goals across 54 games, a figure that doesn't include the 43 penalties scored over just 3 penalty shootouts.
