Inglewood United to make national debut, Floreat Athena to make return

Inglewood United have booked their place in the Australia Cup Round of 32 for the very first time while Floreat Athena will make their fourth appearance in the Final Rounds.

A first-half header from Chris Tilson and two second-half goals from Michael Domfeh gave United a 3-0 win over Sorrento FC at rain-sodden Inglewood Stadium.

It was no more than Andres Oliveira's side deserved, as they got the all-important opening goal and then picked off their opponents as the game wore on.

Floreat Athena join Inglewood United as WA's representatives in the Round of 32 after they defeated Cockburn City on Wednesday night.

All the goals came in the first half as a double from Phil Arnold, either side of Jesse Lazzaro's deflected equaliser, gave Athena a 2-1 win over at Dalmatinac Park.

This is the fourth occasion Floreat have reached the national stage of the competition having reached the Round of 32 in 2016, 2019 and 2021.

The result also means Inglewood United will face Floreat Athena in this season's WA State Cup final in September at Dalmatinac Park. The State Cup Final will be streamed live and free on Streamer and Football West Facebook and YouTube.
