Magpies Crusaders seal final Round of 32 berth

Magpies Crusaders United have secured the final 2022 Australia Cup Round of 32 berth courtesy of a 5-0 win over Edge Hill United at Tiger Park on Saturday night.

Morgan Saunders scored a brace while further goals from Michael Lyall, Diego Cuba and Angus Mckenzie saw the Mackay outfit reach the national stage for the second time.

Saturday's win sets up an exciting Round of 32 home tie against Isuzu Ute A-League Men's side Macarthur FC, with new Head Coach Dwight Yorke set to take charge of his first competitive match as the Bulls Head Coach in the Australia Cup clash.

The Magpies Crusaders have competed in the Australia Cup Final Rounds once before, reaching the Round of 16 in 2019 - defeating Coomera in the Round of 32 before suffering a 4-0 defeat to Moreland Zebras in the last 16.

In the league, the side from Mackay currently sit sixth in Queensland's second tier FQPL1 after 13 rounds of action.
