South East Queensland Round of 32 Qualifiers Confirmed

Midweek Preliminary Round 7 victories have seen Peninsula Power, Brisbane City and Logan Lightning book spots in the 2022 Australia Cup Round of 32.

Peninsula Power reach the Final Rounds for a third time after defeating Rochedale Rovers 2-0 at Underwood Park on Tuesday night.

Power were forced to play the majority of the match with ten men just like they did in their Round 6 victory over Gold Coast United after Jesse Rigby was dismissed in the first half.

Undeterred by their numerical disadvantage Power took the lead in the closing stages of the first half when Brodie Boyce rose highest to head home a corner.

Josh Woolley doubled the visitors advantage early in the second stanza with a scintalliting first-time strike from the top of the box as Power secured back-to-back Round of 32 appearances.

Brisbane City defeated defending NPL Queensland Champions Lions 4-2 to secure a first ever Round of 32 appearance at CTM Stadium on Tuesday night.

A Jackson Simpkin header handed the home side the lead at the break before a quick fire pair of goals from Brandon Reeves and Yuta Hiramaya early in the second half put City 3-0 up.

Lions hit back with through a brace from Zac Maltby but it was Kye Bolton's delicate chip that secured City's progression to the national stage in their 70th anniversary season in what was a remarkable turn around from a side who lost 7-0 to Lions in the league

Logan Lightning reached the Round of 32 for the first time in their history courtesy of a 5-0 victory over Sunshine Coast Fire at Cornubia Park on Wednesday night.

Jacob Fulluck and Eddie Bidwell both struck twice while Dauntae Mariner also got in on the goalscoring act .
