Hume and Port Melbourne played out a thrilling contest in last year’s Round of 32 which saw Hume advance with a 3-1 win in a match that produced plenty of drama late on.

Hume were in the box seat for much of the contest thanks to a wonder strike by former Adelaide United wide man Mark Ochieng.

However, the Sharks set up a grand-stand finish when Chris Duggan found the equaliser with just over ten minutes remaining in the contest - the goal coming just minutes after Bonada missed a chance to double Hume's lead.

Ultimately, however, it wasn't to be for Adam Piddick's Sharks side as Hume City drew deep on their reserves in injury time to secure a memorable win.

City's leading NPL goal scorer Bingham restored his side's lead with a well-placed finish two minutes into time added on, before Bonada made amends for his earlier miss just a minute later to seal the result.

The Sharks' Round of 32 exit equalled their best ever return in the FFA Cup in 2018, while Hume reached the Round of 16 for the third time in six appearances on the national stage where they were defeated 1-0 by Melbourne City.

Port Melbourne come into their 2022 cup opener as one of only two undefeated sides in the NPL Victoria this season alongside South Melbourne and sit third after six rounds of action.

Their first hurdle on the road to a third Round of 32 appearance is State League One outfit, Mazenod United who are without a point after two matches so far this season.

Hume are stuck to the bottom of the NPL Victoria standings having collected just two points from six matches so far this season.

The 2015 Semi Finalists will face NPL2 side, Langwarrin who sit bottom of the NPL Victoria 2 standings.

Langwarrin are coached by former Newcastle Jets Head Coach, Scott Miller.

Other former Round of 32 entrants competing on Tuesday night include, Oakleigh Cannons who host Epping City and Moreland Zebras who travel to face Essendon Royals.
