WATCH: Action aplenty in Round of 32 Matchday Two

There was no shortage of drama and goals as the Australia Cup Round of 32 continued with Matchday Two on Wednesday night. 

Charlie Austin kicked off his Brisbane Roar career with two assists and a victory while Green Gully secured a come-from-behind win, Adelaide City ground out a one-goal victory and Brisbane City brushed aside Cockburn City.

Heidelberg United - 1 (Kosta PETRATOS 57’)

Brisbane Roar reigned supreme in the first Member Federation Club vs A-League Men tie of this year's Round of 32.

The Roar set the pace early with a goal after just two minutes. Austin kicked off his Roar career with an assist after playing through Rahmat Akbari with a smart flick-on. Akbari then drove at his defender and finished smartly past the keeper.

Heidelberg drew level ten minutes into the second half through Kosta Petratos, who was wrestled down by Connor Chapman before stepping up to convert from the penalty spot. 

Henry Hore restored Brisbane’s lead just moments later with a half volley after Austin picked up his second assist of the night with a header into the area. 

The A-League Men outfit put the icing on the cake with Nikola Mileusnic’s sensational long-range free-kick two minutes from full-time.

Green Gully goalkeeper Liam Driscoll came rushing off his line and clipped the Wollongong player to concede a penalty in the 19th minute. Mitsuo Yamada stood up from the spot and went straight down the middle. The keeper got a finger on it but he could not keep it out of the net as Wollongong took a surprise lead. 

Green Gully levelled the score through Alex Salmon 20 minutes later with a stunning hit into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Wollongong then retook a 2-1 lead through Bailey Babarovski, who pounced on a close-range rebound from a free kick.

But Gully could not be held down as they restored parity with a stunning top corner strike from Gianluca Iannucci in the 60th minute. 

Green Gully retook a 3-2 lead five minutes later through Josh Hope, who was put through on goal after a fast break and finished smartly through the Wollongong keepers' legs.

Brisbane City marked their 75th anniversary season and a first-ever Australia Cup Round of 32 appearance with a win over Cockburn City. 

Cockburn kicked off the scoring in the 25th minute after Riley Stent misjudged the corner and Daniel Robinson smashed home a left-footed volley at the back post to hand City a one-goal lead at Perry Park.

Brisbane City restored parity ten minutes into the second half through Yuta Hirayama’s left-footed strike which flew past Ryan Barker from a tight angle. 

City then went on to take a 2-1 lead through Samuel Sibatuara, who deceived Barker with a stunning curling effort into the top left-hand corner. 

Brisbane put the icing on the cake with Brandon Reeves’ 90th-minute penalty to secure a Round of 16 berth in their first Australia Cup Final Round appearance.

ADELAIDE CITY v LOGAN LIGHTNING at Marden Sports Complex

Logan Lightning  – 0

Adelaide City secured a Round of 16 spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Logan Lightning at Marden. 

The only goal came after 28 minutes through Daniel Bressan. It was set up by a sensational run down the left from Ayom Majok after he skipped past multiple defenders before cutting the ball back for Bressan for a simple finish.
