TICKETS: Australia Cup Final
ROAD TO THE FINAL: Sydney United 58
THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH: Macarthur FC

Round of 32 – 0-6 win vs Magpies Crusaders United

Macarthur made a convincing start to its cup campaign, brushing aside Mackay-based side Magpies Crusaders United 6-0 courtesy of a second-half onslaught. Anthony Carter broke the deadlock inside two minutes for the visitors before goals from Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Daniel De Silva, Daniel Arzani and a late Al Hassan Toure brace completed the rout.

Round of 16 – 0-4 win vs Modbury Jets

The Bulls travelled to Adelaide to tackle Modbury Jets in the last 16 and made light work of their opponents with a comfortable 4-0 triumph. Lachlan Rose scored at the end of each half to help seal the club’s first quarter final appearance.

Quarter Final – 2-0 win vs Wellington Phoenix

The only encounter against Isuzu UTE A-League opposition for the Bulls was a Quarter Final clash with Wellington Phoenix. But they passed that test with flying colours, notching a 2-0 victory. Toure and Rose both found the net, continuing their impressive form in the competition.

Semi-final – 2-5 win vs Oakleigh Cannons

Macarthur’s free-scoring ways returned in the semi-final against Oakleigh Cannons. Although, despite the one-sided scoreline, the visitors did not have it all their own way, conceding their first goal of the tournament thanks to a fabulous half-volley from Joe Guest to fire the Cannons ahead.

After beating Sydney FC in the previous round, another Oakleigh upset appeared on the cards but just before the break, the momentum shifted and the Bulls erased the deficit in a flash through Ulises Dávila and Arzani.

After the interval, Jake Hollman’s stunning strike was sandwiched between two successfully slotted penalties by Arzani and Dávila. In four matches, the Bulls netted 17 goals while conceding just twice in a formidable run to the Final.
